Toews mural white-washed

Fans were not happy about the mural     depicting Jonathan Toews and Lord Stanley’s cup that was painted off of the Eisenhower. In fact, sources say that the Blackhawks front office was getting a lot of flack for the artwork and it had been rumored that it would be whitewashed.

It appears fans, and anyone else the mural rubbed the wrong way has gotten their wish. The “pig nosed” Toews mural that is owned by Anheuser-Busch has been taken down. According to Hawks insiders, the mural was supposed to be constantly changing. It would begin with when they won the division and document each step on their road to the Cup, yet it started with the cup in the background.

The Blackhawks have a lot to be superstitious about that they don’t need the mural added to their lists. During the off season, they signed forward Marian Hossa to a 12 year 62.8 million dollar contract. Hossa has appeared in the finals for 2 consecutive years, with two different teams. Each team has failed to win the cup when he is on their roster.
