It’s All Over in Smashville

Last night’s do or die game in Nashville proved to be too much for the Predators as they were the latest team to fall prey to losing on home ice. The game had it all, delivering the big hits and even bigger goals. After the thrillers in Boston and Montreal the Predators and Blackhawks made sure not to disappoint.

The first period was filled with goals, in fact 87% of them came within those first twenty minutes of play. 24 seconds after Nashville tied the game up at three a piece Hawks’ Captain Jonathan Toews scored the game winning goal with less than one minute in the first period. The second period was drastically different with no goals and the third period ended with an empty netter from John Madden. In this series, the Hawks Antti Niemi had two shutouts, one in game two and the other in game four. The Hawks will face the Vancouver Canucks in round two.
