Demitra in Car Crash

Pavol Demitra of the Vancouver Canucks had just picked up his car in Slovakia after it had arrived just hours earlier from Vancouver, British Columbia. He was driving along the main road in Nova Dubnica when a 19 year old in a Fiat ran a yield sign and crashed directly into Demitra. Demitra got out of his car and ran to make sure the 19 year old was ok. Neither driver was injured though Demitra’s 300,000 Euro Aston Martin was brutalized.

“I’m still a bit shaken up. The accident happened in the late evening in Nova Dubnica. Luckily nobody was injured, that is what is most important. Just yesterday my car arrived from overseas and I went to take it for a drive. I was on the main road and the other driver emerged from a side street. Right after the collision we both took breathalyzer tests and passed” – Pavol Demitra

You have to feel for the kid a bit. Not only will he be taunted and teased for crashing into Pavol Demitra and ruining that beautiful Aston, but what does this do to his insurance rates? Let’s see, ran a yield sign hit a 300,000 Euro car that happened to be in mint condition….One starts to feel worse for the kid than for the superstar. And all that does is leave Canucks fans wondering how Demitra survived this and yet was too injured to play a good chunk of the season. Must be something in the water over there.

James Bond would be crying himself to sleep seeing that.

Not gonna lie, I died a little when I saw it. Beautiful car. Can’t find online if it was a DB9 or Vanquish. Guess is DB9 from the build though. 😦
