Flyers Trade for Meszaros

The Philadelphia Flyers got the first jump Thursday minutes before the free agency opened by making a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Flyers acquired a defenseman Andrej Meszaros for a second-round pick.  Meszaros fits the Flyers style of play, finishing his checks.  He also adds a bit of size on the backend, standing at 6’2” and 223 pounds.  He is another defenseman on the roster who shoots left.

Meszaros makes $4 million per year, leaving the Flyers with roughly $5.8 million left under the cap.
