Not Quiet on the Wild Front

For those that believed that Chuck Fletcher was done yesterday after not picking Derek Boogaard back up but adding depth to his forwards, they were wrong. This afternoon the Wild broke the news on their website that they have signed two AHL players. Center Warren peters to a two year contract for $1.075 million or $537,500 per year and defenseman Drew Bagnall to a one year contract for $600,000. Both contracts are two way, meaning they can go to the AHL without clearing waivers.

Peters split his time between the Texas Stars and the Dallas Stars as the Alternate Captain for the Texas Stars, a team he helped reach the Calder Cup Finals before losing to the defending Calder Cup Champions, the Hershey Bears. Bagnall was the Captain of the Manchester Monarchs. Both Peters and Bagnall display hockey skill and their on and off ice leadership are looked at as a plus for the organization.
